Fast, funny and intensely engaging, this Disney movie is one of the best.
Who's in it? John Travolta, Miley Cyrus
What's it about? The canine star of a fictional TV show who believes his powers are real tries to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.
What type of film is it? Animated
Is it any good? Bolt is enormous fun from start to finish for adults and kids alike. Disney animation doesn’t get much better than this – especially when in many places you will get to see this in 3D. The gimmicks are few and far between however the ambitious yet very successful set pieces are hugely enhanced by the extra dimension – although they will still have you holding your breath even watching them in 2D. I had my doubts about the vocal stylings of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus before I saw this movie, but it turns out they fit the characters perfectly. I should never have doubted Disney really…. Also, expect Rhino, the extremely entertaining super fan hamster (no, I’m not kidding) will steal your heart and split your sides. Expect a spin off featuring him to pop out of Disney some time soon. Bolt is pure genius.

(20/02/2009 09:23:03) Nah, didnt work for me this one ... basically The Trueman Show for dogs! Under 10s wouldnt understand the whole "the dog doesnt realise its not real" concept and its not a film that over 12s would be seen at as it's a kiddie film! |
