What's it about? A loan officer who refuses to help stop a mysterious old woman from losing her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse.
What type of film is it? Horror
Is it any good? Drag Me To Hell is a stroke of horror genius, but is that really a surprise considering the brain behind it is Sam Raimi, the guy now best known for the Spider-Man movies but also the Evil Dead movies? No. What is really great though is that this film contains real scream inducing scares, real laugh out loud guffaws and real edge of the seat tension. In recent years cinemas have been flooded by half hearted remakes of Japanese horror films, poor re-imaginings of 80s slashers and gore-over-substance “torture porn” movies. This has gore but also giggles – it’s like a movie version of a ghost train. You will jump out of your seat, you will cover your eyes but you will also have a brilliant time watching this. Drag Me To Hell is the greatest horror film of the decade and is a must see for scare fans. Gore-geous!
